The coronavirus pandemic has forced many people on Long Island to find suitable ways to get away from people and respect the social distance. One such way? Horseback riding!

As you may know, Long Island is home to many horse trails whether someone has never ridden a horse before or is a professional rider.

Check out below the best Long Island horseback riding trails!

1. Babylon Riding Center

Babylon Riding Center is located in Belmont Lake State Park, and it could be the best trail for you.

This hiking center offers a place to learn new skills and take in the beautiful scenery of the area.

Passengers have a 30 or 60-minute study option and reservations are required.

2. Big River Barn Rescue, INC

The purpose of Big River Barn Rescue, INC is to be admired. Accordingly, with their website, their mission is to rescue horses in need and give them a long-term home.

Located in Muttontown Preserve, Big River Barn Rescue, INC offers a ride from an hour and 15 minutes to more than four hours upon request.

3. Bethpage Equestrian Center

Bethpage Equestrian Center offers what you’ve been looking for… comprehensive Horse Boarding facilities and equestrian programs for every kind of rider.

Experience its hour-long guided tour of Bethpage State Park with beautiful views of the Bethpage State Park Golf Course.

4. DDR Farm

DDR Farm provides access to horses, private lessons and scenic trail rides all year round. Located in West Hills County Park, walk-ins are accepted, but a reservation is recommended to avoid a long wait.

5. Deep Hollow Ranch

Deep Hollow Ranch is one of the oldest farms in the United States. This ranch is characterized to be a family-run business and it offers not only track rides but also sea rides on Long Island Sound.

6. Nassau Equestrian Center

Nassau Equestrian Center is located near the Muttontown Preserve and it offers a variety of riding services, from lessons to trail riding.

This horsepower center offers miles of beautiful trails.

7. Nativity Riding Academy

This Ridge horseback riding spot is home to horses named “Nativity’s Angel” and “Nativity’s Prince,” who are known to provide a great trail riding experience.

8. New York Equestrian Center

New York Equestrian Center has been providing services for almost 100 years.

Near 775 hectares of Hempstead Lake State Park, the New York Equestrian Center has a nine-mile line of dedicated atoms.

So, if you are going on horseback, the riders have a stunning view of the sea, five lakes, the hills of the Hempstead Private Country Club golf course and much more.

9. Parkview Riding Center

Parkview Riding Center is located in the beautiful Connetquot State Park. This equestrian center offers an hour-long trek from beginners to advanced levels.

Their services include private, semi-private and group lessons for riders of all ages and abilities.
