What to do in Curitiba
Historic Center of Curitiba
The Historic Center is one of the best places to go in Curitiba and get to know the city. It is in the historic center that the capital’s ground zero is located, which represents the exact point of the city’s foundation, in March 1693.
At Tiradentes Square, visitors can see the 19th-century pavement under glass plates installed on the floor. You can also see the Cathedral Basilica Minor Nossa Senhora da Luz dos Pinhais, built in neo-Gothic style between 1876 and 1893.
From Tiradentes Square, the tip is to head towards Largo da Ordem, where the Ordem Church is located. The church is the oldest in the city, built-in 1737. The Archdiocese’s Museum of Sacred Art is located in the annex of the religious building.
And don’t forget to stop by Garibaldi Square, where the Flower Clock is located, eight meters in diameter and made of flowers and plants.
Curitiba Botanical Garden
The Curitiba Botanical Garden is the biggest postcard in the city and was opened in 1991.
The garden greenhouse is made of a metal structure with glass and attracts tourists from all over. It is the ideal place to enjoy a pleasant afternoon in the French garden, with sculptural and symmetrical flower beds.
In addition, the Botanical Garden has space for exhibitions, a library, and a permanent preservation grove.
Wire Opera
The Wire Opera House is located in Parque das Pedreiras. Inaugurated in 1992, the building has a metallic structure and transparent walls. This theater is one of the most famous in Brazil.
Barigui Park
The space is the best place to look for capybaras, unofficial symbols of the city, but already adopted as mascots.

Municipal market

Panoramic Tower
The viewpoint is in one of the highest points of the city, in a telephone tower.
There, it is possible to have a wide and stunning view of the city from more than 100 meters high.
Eye Museum – Oscar Niemeyer Museum
The Oscar Niemeyer Museum was opened in 2002 and soon became one of the biggest postcards in Curitiba.
Inside the building are exposed miniatures of famous projects by Niemeyer around the world, as well as temporary exhibitions on various themes.
It is considered the largest art museum in Latin America and exhibits more than 7,000 works. It also temporarily hosts the works of MAC, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Paraná.
Tourism Line
Curitiba’s Tourism Line runs through the main tourist attractions in the city.
The complete tour of the bus line lasts 2h30, but it is possible to get off or board at any of the 26 points around the city and get to know each place calmly.
The Linha Turismo ticket can be purchased directly from the vehicles.
Places to eat
Batel is a neighborhood known for international cuisine restaurants, cafes, bars, and pubs for all styles: Mexican pubs, American bars, English bars, and Arab street food.
Santa Felicidade is another suggestion to eat in Curitiba. The neighborhood was once a former colony of Italian immigrants, so the restaurants, as you’d expect, most specialize in Italian cuisine.
